Caramel Turtle Brownie Mix
Caramel Shortbread Brownies
Shortbread Crust: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened 3/4 cup powdered sugar Brownie: 1, 18.5 oz package Ghirardelli Caramel Turtle Brownie Mix (1 pouch brownie mix and 1 pouch caramel) 1/4 cup water 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 egg Preheat oven to 350°F. For Shortbread Crust: In medium bowl, stir together flour, butter or margarine and powdered sugar until dough forms. Press dough evenly into lightly greased 13x9x2-inch pan. Bake 14-16 minutes. Set aside. For Brownie: In medium bowl, stir together Ghirardelli Caramel Turtle Brownie Mix, water, oil and egg until moistened (about 40 strokes). Spoon batter evenly over shortbread crust. Cut corner of caramel pouch, leaving 1/4-inch opening. Using full pouch, squeeze 4-5 lines of caramel over brownie batter. Using tip of knife, draw 4-5 lines gently through surface of batter in alternating directions for a ripple effect. Bake 30-35 minutes. Makes 24 brownies.
